If your ever in the middle of the nowhere down by the Salton Sea (I never knew CA had an inland sea) near a place called Slab City make the stop and see this most impressive folk site.
Brightkite, the project that has been consuming 98% of my time over the past 6 months is really starting to come together. I recently drove through Las Vegas on the way to LA. Not usually being a fan of Vegas, I happened to stumble upon a gem that made stopping this time worth it. Just outside the strip in an unassuming junkyard lies the the Young Electric Sign Company (YESCO) neon sign graveyard. This incredible collection of old Vegas strip signs is probably the only place to come see Vegas history. A three acre junkyard of gigantic letters just rusting away, a designers dream.
